LOCATION: city of TEMARA and RABAT, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra Region

START OF ACTIVITY: 2008

GOAL: To promote the social inclusion of children with disabilities in Morocco, with particular regard to residents in the Province of Skhirat-Temara, following the indications of the WHO.

ORIGIN OF THE COMMITMENT: After a project carried out in partnership with the Italian NGO Amici dei Bambini and with the Moroccan League for abandoned children - with the aim of improving the quality of life of children with disabilities and preventing abandonment - some parents of children with disabilities followed by OVCI, thought of associating to have a greater weight in Moroccan society. This was followed by an internal reflection and a discussion with two Italian entities, the Parents Association of Our Family and the National Council on Disability, which led to the birth of the Parents Association "Casa Lahnina" (House of Tenderness) on 30 March 2006. , made up of parents of children with disabilities active for the inclusion of their children in the social life of the country.

COMMITMENT DESCRIPTION: from here begins a fruitful partnership between OVCI and Casa Lahnina with the following educational objectives:

• Organize training and professional updating activities for teachers and educators of Special Classes of the Region for the definition of Individualized Educational Programs (IEP), which aim to tailor teaching to the special needs of the individual student with disabilities
• Activate the first Socio-Educational Center for children with medium-severe disabilities in Morocco. From 2019 it becomes a Center to accompany children with disabilities in the path of school inclusion
• Organize awareness raising and presentation at government level of inclusive education models

 Support the staff of Casa Lahnina in the presentation and management of projects independently
